1. Connect to GWMail via IMAP with Netscape (skip if you have already done so)
2. Connect to Research via IMAP
3. Create empty folders on GWMail to transfer Research Mail to
4. Drag and Drop Messages from Research to GWMail

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

• A GWMail Account with ample space to move your Research mail to. We strongly urge you to delete mail that you do not need!
• A Research Account with mail on it
• Netscape 4.7x for Mac OS. Please see http://www.gwu.edu/~netcal/download.html/ if you do not have it on installed on your computer
• Netscape 4.7x for Mac OS configured to connect to GWMail via IMAP. If you have not, please configure your Netscape 4.7x for Mac OS to connect to GWMail via IMAP.

Connecting to Research

In Step 6, instead of using GWMail's server information, use Research's:

• Server Name: research.circ.gwu.edu
• User Name: ithelp (My research user name)

Transferring Mail to Research from GWMail

1. Now we're going to move your messages from research to GWMail. The first step is to create the folder under imap.gwu.edu where you will copy your messages to. We will have to repeat this process for each folder you migrate from Research to GWMail. Click on imap.gwu.edu and then click on the File menu. Select New Folder.

2. Create a name for your folder, and then click create.

3. After that click on the mail folder under research.circ.gwu.edu you seek to move over to GWMail. Then click on any one of your messages.

4. Go up to Edit and choose select all. This should highlight all of your messages.

5. Drag and Drop your messages into the folder you created under imap.gwu.edu.

6. Repeat Steps 1 -> 6 for each folder you wish to move over to GWMail (imap.gwu.edu).
