POP, Post Office Protocol, can be thought of as a "store-and-forward" email service. When you using POP mail clients, your email messages are transferred from the email server to you computer's hard drive and that is where they stay.

Let us begin...

1. Start Netscape the way you normally do.

2.Click on the Edit, then Preferences...

... set the following:

- Outgoing mail server user name: use the first part of your email address.

SMTP Note: If you have your own ISP, you will need your ISP's SMTP server. Please contact your them for this information as you will not be able to send mail through GW's mail server.

6. Next, click on Add... in the upper right corner of the window above and a Mail Server Properties will appear on your screen.
