What I need to know about my passwords?
I forgot my password/Need it reset. What do I do?
How do I change my password?

1. What do I need to know about my password?

Passwords on the GWMail system must:

• be exactly 8 characters long
• contain at least 1 non-alpha-numeric character
• not be your userid or email address, your name, SSN, date of birth, or parts of these
• not be dictionary words or something that is easily guessed

Avoid using your favorite football team, place, pet, etc...

The password is yours alone, and not meant for sharing with others. If you've shared your password with someone else, please change your password immediately.

2. I forgot my password/Need it reset. What do I do?

3. How do I change my password?

You can change passwords at the GWMail Management Console:

Go to: https://amc.gwu.edu/
Log into the Colonial Mail Account Management Console using your email password and username
Click on "Password Change" link in the left column and follow directions.
