1. Determine the general nature of the problem. Is the printer jamming, or is there an image problem on the printed sheets? Record any errors from the printer's control panel.

2. Call for support. Call either the Div. IT Data Help Desk (202-004-5530, option 2) or your Local Support Partner.

3. ITS will send a technician to examine the printer. The technician will determine the most appropriate steps to repair the printer.

4. If the printer is under warranty with the manufacturer, ITS will facilitate the warranty repair. The time spent on the facilitation will be billable.

5. If the printer is not under warranty, ITS will provide the client with the information needed to order the parts.

6. The client will order the parts and contact ITS when they arrive. You can either contact the technician directly, or call the Help Desk and refer to the ticket number.

7. Once ITS has been contacted, the technician will schedule the installation within five business days.

In some circumstances, additional parts may be needed.
