Installing & Configuring VPN for Mac OS X
The preferred method to connect to the George Washington University Virtual Private Network using either the Internet Explorer or Safari web browser is located at https://vpn.gwu.edu. Note: After a successful connection, browsing may be performed within other browsers. For Snow Leopard and other users not able to use https://vpn.gwu.edu, this document will walk you through configuring your Mac OS X computer for a VPN connection to GW's network. This will grant you access to resources limited to GW's network. |

Installing & Configuring VPN for Mac OS X

1. To install the VPN Client, double click the mounted drive called gwvpnmac on your desktop.
2. Here, double click the Cisco VPN Client.mpkg icon to install. Follow the installer's directions to complete the installation process. This will install the VPN Client in your Applications folder.
3. Go to your Applications folder, find and double click the VPN Client icon to start the VPN Client. From the main screen, click Import.
4. From the Select connection entry to import window, click on gwvpnmac > Profiles > GWVPN.pcf > Open. (You may also import GWireless.pcf which will only allow you to successfully connect wirelessly to the VPN.)
Next, you will see a window telling that the profile has been successfully imported. Click OK to close this window and return to the main VPN Client window. You will see GW's VPN imported settings.
5. Click the Connect button, and when prompted, enter your GWMail username and password to connect.
